Road Test Requirements
Express Driving School provides professional Adult and Teen driving lessons, classroom training, and DPS road test services in Richardson and Dallas. Our certified instructors focus on building confidence, safety, and real-world driving skills to help you succeed on the road.
For Adult Drivers
Adult students must bring a valid Texas learner permit or driver’s license before taking the DPS road test. You are also required to complete the Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) certificate. If you are under 25 years old, you must present a 6-hour Adult Driver Education certificate or a DE-964 certificate (7 hours behind-the-wheel and 7 hours observation). All documents must be valid on the day of your road test. At Express Driving School, we guide adult students through each requirement, help verify documents before the test, and ensure you are fully prepared with proper instruction and support.
For Teen Drivers
Teen students must bring a valid learner permit along with required documents, including the DE-964 certificate, Verification of Enrollment (VOE), and Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) certificate. These documents are required by Texas DPS and must be completed before scheduling your road test. Our team helps teen students and parents understand each requirement, provides reminders, and ensures all paperwork is complete so there are no delays on test day.
After 2 or 6 Hours Driving Practice
After completing 2-hour or 6-hour driving practice sessions at Express Driving School, students gain hands-on experience and confidence needed for the road test. Our instructors focus on real test routes, parking, lane control, and defensive driving to prepare you effectively. We also provide test readiness evaluation, tips to avoid common mistakes, and the option to take a DPS-authorized road test with us, making the entire process simple, smooth, and stress free.
